Liverpool pushed Man City to the last day of the season in what was a good title race. Or did Man City push Liverpool? They were seven points clear and had the chance to go 10 points clear at one stage in the season. Liverpool lost only one game, two of their players won the golden boot, their centre back won player of the season and their right back won the most assists and still no title. They throw away a lot of points this season which I think is harsh on this man who was for me their best attacking player.
Mane scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the Premier League season in a must win match for Liverpool, and in a majority of matches this season he has been the person to get the goals. Mane has been extremely consistent this season and he is often overlooked because of Salah.
Mane opened the scoring on the 17th minute with a side foot finish after a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold. They needed a goal and he was on hand for this goal and the second which came on the 81st minute which again was assisted from Alexander-Arnold.
It has been a really good season for Mane and it is not over yet, with the Champions League final coming up soon. He scored in last years final against Madrid and I am sure that he will score again in this years final.
Mane has been linked with Real Madrid but so has a lot of players. I think he will stay at Liverpool for next season as they will believe they can win the title.
