Hat-trick for Perez!! Newcastle are safe for another season thanks to a brilliant performance overall with Perez putting the ball in the net on three occasions. They brushed Southampton aside 3-1 at home, Southampton need points to stay safe, but I believe they will be safe this season.
Perez bagged two goals in the first half in this crucial game for the clubs survival. He looked complete as a striker with his first goal him showing immense strength and precision and his second him showing great predator instincts to get on the end of Rondon's cross.
He sealed his hat-trick in the second half on the 86th minute. He is definitely a talented player but his major issue is the amount of goals he scores per season. I feel he should be hitting the 15/16 goals a season in the league mark especially if Newcastle are looking to step up and finish in the top half of the table.
Perez has scored seven goals in his last seven appearances at St. James park in the Premier League and has scored ten goals this season which is his best tally in a top flight season. This was also the first hat-trick to be scored for Newcastle since 2015 - Wijnaldum was the scorer.
Last three games of the season Newcastle can enjoy a bit more now and I guess try and get nine points out of nine to give their fans a positive end to the season. Benitez has again done a remarkable job to keep them up.
