I was torn between Joe Gomez, Glenn Murray and Lacazette. Lukaku had a decent game but he was very wasteful in front of goal. Murray pegged Fulham back and Gomez secured the three points for Liverpool if you ask me.
But I have gone with Lacazette on his first start of the season, he inspired Arsenal to a hard fought victory over Cardiff. As Arsenal do, their poor defence allowed Cardiff back in the game twice, but Lacazette was on hand to score the winner for the Gunners.
Arsenal fans were calling for him and Aubameyang to start together as they liked what they witnessed in pre season and they got their wish yesterday. It is clear to see they have great chemistry and look for each other on the pitch, but do they have to quality to outscore teams? With a defence as leaky as Arsenal's that will be their only hope of winning games.
Arsenal were 1-0 up after 11 minutes courtsey of a Mustafi header and went into half time level due to a poor pass from Xhaka (he was trending on twitter again, four games in a row) and a great finish from Camarasa.
Lacazette was a hand full, his hold up play was good and his one touch passes bringing the players in behind him were good also. On the 62nd minute his flick to Aubameyang from an Ozil pass helped to make it 2-1. And his rocket of a shot beating the keeper at his near post made it 3-2 and wrapped the game up.
*Opta stats* Since Lacazette's Premier League debut, Arsenal have a 58% win rate when he starts compared to a 33% win rate when he doesn't, Lacazette has been directly involved in seven goals in his last 5 Premier League starts (five goals, two assists) and thanks to Lacazette Arsenal pick up their second away win in 2018!
Lacazette scooped this prestigous award just before the International break. Fair play to him.
