Player of Matchweek 38 #MW38MOM - Manuel Lanzini

Player of the matchweek

#MW38MOM

Manuel Lanzini

Age: 25
Height: 1.67m
Nationality: Argentine / Italian
Playing Position: Midfielder

The season is over, its sad I know. This is our last edition until August. This was a tight matchweek as there were lots of big performances. I went for Lanzini this week as I feel he played exceptionally well for the Hammers in order to get them the three points.

This is his second time receiving this prestigious award which is surprising as he is a top quality player. Maybe his performances are overlooked due to West Ham's poor season and bad press.

Lanzini netted twice as West Ham beat a poor performing Everton side 3-1. Lanzini was at it from the the very first whistle, combining well with Arnautovic in attack causing Everton a lot of problems. Everton experimented with a back three and were punished in the 39th minute when the deadlock was broken. (match highlights below)

He got his second and West Ham's third on the 82nd minute to put the game beyond doubt as the score was 2-1 at the time but to be honest it didn't look like Everton were going to get anything out of the match. He was the the star of the show, and Arnautovic was a close contender for MOM in this match also as they both worked extremely hard to give the Hammers the victory.

Injury has not helped the Argentine prove his class this season but he is undoubtedly a quality footballer. He has been directly involved in 11 Premier League goals this season (five goals, six assists) which is his best ever figures in the English top flight.

Until next season folks! Look out for our World Cup posts and general transfer updates on our social media pages! #Limitlessfutbol
