Player of Matchweek 22 #MW22MOM - Andy Carroll

Player of the matchweek

#MW22MOM

Andy Carroll
Age: 28
Height: 1.93m
Nationality: English
Playing position: Striker

West Ham played twice this matchweek with Andy Carroll staring against West Brom scoring 2 securing all 3 points for the Hammers. He played the full match on Tuesday with a sublime center forward display showing he still has the quality required to lead the front line.

Carroll ended a nine month goal drought in style, which is the longest goal drought in his career. His first came from a trademark header on the 59th minute leveling the game for West Ham. He powered the ball past the keeper with an emphatic header, lifting the crowd and setting the game up for a grand finish.

His second of the match came in stoppage time, unmarked at the back post was Carroll tapping in a low cross to secure all 3 points. This was the first time the Hammers have come from behind this season to secure a win in the Premier League.
His career has had highs and lows from club level to the international stage. I don't feel like he has reached his all time best as striker but has shown spells of his quality with every club he has played for, some may disagree.

He offers something very different for the Hammers and they'll need to keep him fit as they'll have to fight this season to stay in the Premier League.
