Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has agreed to double his money with a £300,000 a week, 3 year contract to remain in North London.
By doing so, Sanchez turned down a big money move to China worth £40,000,000 a year deal which included a £12 million bonus per year.
The north London club also managed to ward off interest from Bayern Munich who were unable cooperate funds to pry the Chilean away from the Premier League.
Sanchez's agreement is apparently with the understanding that Arsenal will sign 3 top players this summer, with the club reportedly letting him know that we are already in advanced talks for two high profile players. (Is Lacazette considered as one?)
The deal for Sanchez is set to be announced in the next two weeks.
Parrallel to this, Mesut Ozil is almost certain to follow Sanchez by signing a new at Arsenal. According to German newspapers the agreement is 99% done.
Ozil's future at the Emirates has long been in doubt, and Arsenal's failure to clinch a top-four finish in the Premier League—thus missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification—won't have helped matters at all.
Mesut Ozil is reportedly ready to sign a new deal at the club and is willing to negotiate after being offered a £280,000-per-week salary.
With Sanchez and Ozil set to stay, and Arsene Wenger prepared to make big moves in the transfer market, Arsenal are preparing to make a serious title challenge in 2017/18.
