3 Players That Need To Be Sold this Summer at Arsenal

Arsenal are in need of a major overhaul in order to have any chance at the title next season.

Let's be honest with ourselves. Quite a few of the players at Arsenal are on of two things; not talented enough or getting old. In order to keep up with the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Man United we need to invest correctly.

We may not possess the same resources that other major Premier League teams have, but this is exactly why we should shed loose of any dead weight which will definitely benefit us.

With all of the above said, let's focus on the three players Arsenal should sell this summer for the benefit of the team. (In no particular order)

Francis Coquelin
I do hope you all agree on this one. The bottom line is that Francis Coquelin is not talented enough to remain at Arsenal. Through 94 appearances for Arsenal (BPL only), he has not scored a single goal. Zero! Zilch! Nada! I expect this from a goalkeeper.

To add to that... he's only ever provided ONE ASSIST  in all his seasons with the Gunners.

"He's a CDM. He's not supposed to score."

Then explain to me how Nacho Monreal has more goals?!

Arsenal require a CDM that can ultimately do both, defend and score on a consistent basis, unfortunately Coquelin is not that man.

Let's take into account Pogba, Kante and Matuidi as an example. These three can both defend and pose an attacking threat. A good potential replacement for Coquelin would be Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. He has a good engine, great passing ability, a decent shot and solid defending skills, this already makes him a better option than Francis Coquelin.

Nacho Monreal
You may think this one is interesting. Nacho, the Spanish left back in my opinion needs to be sold. You're correct in saying he's had a good couple of weeks with a crucial goal against Man City and a deflected goal, down as an own goal against Leicester which gave Arsenal the win but for me his overall performance this season has been very inconsistent.

On the other hand, Monreal is also ageing. He's now 31 years old and its hard to say whether he'll develop more in his career. You might say that Laurent Koscielny is also the same age, but on his behalf he play like a 20-year-old with his skills.

Although we saw Nacho's passion when he scored at Wembley, I just don't think he'll cut it anymore. Arsenal require a more consistent left-back who can provide an attacking threat as well. We know he can attack as we've seen it in the last few games but it's just not consistent enough.

Curiously with the recent rumours suggesting Sead Kolasinac will be our choice left back if he decides to sign with us. That gives Nacho another reason to find a new team.

Petr Cech
"He's our best goalkeeper!"
Let's start with the fact that he is 34 years old...Injuries have recently shortened his playing time and with a numerous amount of inconsistent games, I would agree that the time has come to let hime go. Another point to consider is that he has never saved a penalty for Arsenal, I would expect better from a goalkeeper of his calibre.

I'll highlight his performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup Semi-Final as a example. I think it was obvious to every living soul within the stadium that Sergio Aguero was going to chip that shot. Everyone but Cech.

Instead of easily reaching for the ball, he tried to reenact that scene in the matrix where Neo was dodging 1000s of bullets. Luckily the goal didn't cost Arsenal the game.

Sorry Petr time to go!
