Floyd Mayweather won on points in Las Vegas

The American boxed clever under the Las Vegas lights yet again to claim a unanimous decision and finally en the debate of how he's the best of his era.

Mayweather, 38, had to survive a fourth-round scare in the £350m super-fight when Pacquiao shook him with a left.

But for the majority of the 36 minutes he controlled the contest much to the anger and disappointment of the pro Pacquiao crowd inside the 16,800-capacity MGM Grand Arena.

The three American jusges' scorecards were clear at 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 as Mayweather added the WBO welterweight title to his WBC and WBA crowns and stretched his record to 48-0.

Mayweather said: "Manny is a hell of a fighter, I see why he is at the pinnacle of boxing. He had his moments but I was smart.

"I out boxed him. He never figured out my jab and my right hand."

Dave Moretti's 118-110 was certainly to wide, but the undefeated 'Money' never allowed this to turn into a war and was booed at the end despite the dominating win.

The early rounds let us to believe this could have gone either way, but by the second half of the fight Mayweather was coasting and Pacquiao's smile was gone.

PAcquiao and trainer Freddie Roach were so relaxed they shared a selfie on the ring walk as he Filipino's own song was boomed around the packed MGM Grand Arena - but they won't want to remember this.

The Pacman laughed and smiled his way to the ring and then Mayweather appeared on the gigantic screens in the corner of this boxing mecca, the boos that round.

Mayweather looked focused as there were no smiles as he trotted out dressed in black and gold shorts.

The the first bell finally came after fiver years of waiting were added to by a TV delay in the US and the noise inside the arena created a spine-tingling atmosphere.

Pacquiao - in the yellow, blue and red colours of his country - was supposed to be the aggressor in this one.

But Mayweather was the one who took control of the opening round from the centre of the ring.

'Money' landed two right hands in the three minutes and the only time Pacquiao got close he held him to a chorus of boos from the supporters who were expecting that tactic.

Mayweather even afforded some words to the Filipino just before the bell.

Pacquiao came out flying in the second round only to be turn by Mayweather's quick feet.
