SHORT STORIES: Be Optimistic

A jobless woman applied for the position of 'office assistant' in the NHS.
The HR manager interviewed her, then gave her a test: clean the desk. The woman passed the test with flying colours.
"You are hired," HR manager informed the applicant, "give me your e-mail address, and I'll send you the application for employment, as well as the date you should report for work.
The woman replied " I don't have a computer, or an email!"
"I'm sorry," said the HR manager. "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And we cannot hire persons who do not exist."
The woman was very disappointed.
She didn't know what to do. He only had £10 with her. Once that is spent, she won't have any money to buy any food.
She went to the supermarket and bought a crate of fruit with her £10.
She went from door to door and sold the fruits in less than two hours. She doubled her money.
She repeated the operation three times, and returned home with £60. She realised that she can survive this way. She started to go everyday earlier, and return late.
She doubled or tripled her money every day. Soon, she bought a trolley, then a van. In a very short time, she had her own fleet of delivery vans.
Five years later, the woman became one of the biggest food retailers in the UK. She started to plan her family's future, and decided to get life insurance.
She called an insurance company, and chose a protection plan.
At the end of the conversation, the insurance manager asked her for her email address.
The woman replied: ' I don't have an email.'
The insurance manager was dumbfounded. "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded in building an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?," he exclaimed.
The woman thought for a while, and replied, "an office assistant in NHS!"
