Jamal Lawrence is Rocking Robin

Cheltenham Town's wonderkid Jamal Lawrence has been the hot topic of many youth scouts across England. His performances at youth level have grabbed the attention of Everton, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion just to name a few.

Jamal Lawrence is not a finished product and he's not close to it. The 17-year-old striker who turns 18 next month deserves a first team call up within the upcoming weeks. He scored for the youth team in their 4-1 victory against Newport County and he also got on the score-sheet for the reserves in an even stevens match ending 2-2.

It would be great to catch a glimpse of the youngster for the first team tomorrow, as they entertain Dagenham & Redbridge at Whaddon Road. This would be a great opportunity for Mark Yates throw the talented striker on the bench as a reward for his rich vein of form.

He is a player with great pace and good technique, very Thierry Henry-esc. His coaches believe he can potentially be a premier league player. His next 2-3 years he will have to show his mental qualities to fulfill this potential. The opportunity is there for him to take. If he grows physically and continues to develop mentally, the potential is there for him to become a top professional player.

You can he's one of those kids who enjoys to play football. He just wants to go out there and express himself. He can play on the right or left wing, it may not be his strongest position but he's done the job.

His main focus now is trying to break into the first team. I'm sure Cheltenham Town are preparing to give the 17-year-old his first professional contract. They must hurry up before he receives offers from else where, where he can continue his development.
